EARTH HOUR

On Saturday, March 23, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., West Dala Company participated in the international environmental campaign "Earth Hour." Our facilities WMF, the Integrated Landfill, Prorva WMF, Uzen WMF, Koshanai WMF, Tengiz WMF were plunged into darkness for a whole hour, reminding us of the importance of careful environmental stewardship.

This year, "Earth Hour" in Kazakhstan is dedicated to the theme of preserving the country's nature.

The "Earth Hour" initiative was first held in Sydney in 2007. Since then, it has evolved into a large-scale annual event, bringing together people, companies, and governments in more than 180 countries worldwide. On this day, lighting or illumination was turned off for one hour at thousands of locations and buildings around the world. Among them were iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower (Paris), the Colosseum (Rome), the Sydney Opera House, and the Empire State Building (New York). Thus, the "Earth Hour" campaign draws attention to the necessity of responsible treatment of nature and the planet's resources.
