West Dala LLP was established in the Atyrau Region on July 18, 2005, and for 21 years, the Company has held a leading position in the integrated waste management of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2025, employees of West Dala LLP completed the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals, an intensive nine-month programme designed to unlock the potential of future business leaders and changemakers.
The programme focused on developing and implementing innovative solutions through advanced technologies, initiatives, and business models that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within companies. In July 2026, the United Nations Global Compact published a report highlighting innovative solutions developed by teams from Europe, Asia, Nordic, Africa, Latin America, and Central Asia countries. Among the companies representing Kazakhstan, West Dala presented the WD Restart project, created by: Minara Massalimova (Chief Technologist); Timur Kaliyev (SEZ NINT Project Manager); Taras Aisultanov (Bautino Project Manager).
The project team explained the key challenge that WD Restart is designed to address: “Our project addresses the critical issue of improper storage, segregation, and identification of waste and wastewater, which leads to the loss of their homogeneous properties and non-compliance with waste passport specifications. As a result, waste treatment becomes less efficient, environmental risks increase, and soil, water, and air pollution intensify. Many customers lack practical tools and guidance to preserve the characteristics of waste from the moment it is generated until it is processed, making sustainable waste management more difficult.
By improving the segregation, stabilization, and traceability of waste and wastewater, the project helps reduce environmental impacts and contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Effective waste management supports clean water protection (SDG 6), improves resource and energy efficiency (SDG 7), promotes sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), encourages responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), combats climate change by reducing emissions (SDG 13), protects marine ecosystems (SDG 14), and conserves terrestrial ecosystems and soils (SDG 15).”
