UN GLOBAL COMPACT

West Dala joined the United Nations Global Compact — the world’s largest international initiative for sustainable development and corporate social responsibility — in 2023. As of today, 52 Kazakhstani companies are participants in the UN Global Compact, having voluntarily committed to upholding UN principles in the areas of human rights, labor relations, environmental protection, and anti-corruption, as well as integrating the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their operations.

The United Nations is consistently shifting from philanthropy-based partnerships toward more strategic and systemic engagement with the business sector. Companies play a key role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, fostering innovation to address social and environmental challenges, and combating climate change.

In addition to adhering to the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact and integrating the 17 SDGs, West Dala annually completes specialized training courses and actively participates in online seminars organized by the UN Global Compact. At the end of 2025, the company’s employees received certificates for the following training programs:

  • “Business and Human Rights” Accelerator — a six-month educational program aimed at improving business practices in the field of human rights compliance and due diligence procedures;
  • “SDG Innovation for Young Professionals” Accelerator — an intensive nine-month program designed to develop the capacity of future business leaders and change agents;
  • One-day training “Gender Equality and Inclusion in Business” — a practice-oriented program focused on building an inclusive corporate culture, ensuring equal opportunities, and embedding the principles of non-discrimination and diversity into business processes and human resource management systems.

As part of the accelerator programs, participating companies are given the opportunity to develop their own projects, which may later be integrated into operational and business processes. By applying the acquired practical knowledge, West Dala becomes part of the global UN initiatives aimed at responsible business conduct and sustainable development.
