PUBLIC HEARINGS

In November, in the village of Makat - the administrative center of the Makat district of Atyrau region, The Public hearings were held on the project documentation of the West Dala facility – the Integrated Landfill, which is located on 38 km of the Atyrau-Dossor highway.

The Public hearings were held under the chairmanship of Deputy Akim of Makat district Zhaykin B.O. in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Code and the Rules of Public Hearings in order to inform the public and all interested parties about the production activities of the landfill and environmental and public health impact factors. The hearing was attended by representatives of the Akimat of Makat district, NGOs, local residents, including online participants from among public organizations.
West Dala ecologists presented a presentation on the standards for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere from sources located on the territory of the landfill, waste management, Environmental monitoring and Control Program, as well as a Plan of environmental measures.

During the Public hearings, the specialists of West Dala gave detailed answers to the questions of the public. All questions, comments, suggestions of the public were recorded by the secretary in the protocol and then sent to the local executive body for posting on the Portal. Further, in parallel, the project documentation is considered in the Department of Ecology of the Atyrau region. Taking into account the public hearings held, a decision will be made to issue an environmental impact permit to West Dala LLP.
