GREENING WMF

Green Oasis at the WMF

Did you know that the West Dala company’s WMF territory has a true green oasis? Over 300 trees and flowers have been planted here, and about 30% of the trees bear fruit. Every year, the facility’s employees harvest apples, pears, quinces, apricots, and cherries. This season was no exception!

Initially, the WMF production area was greened due to legislative requirements, but over time, the employees became so involved that the garden expanded.

“The soil in our area is challenging, but with proper care, everything grows,” says Boranbay Kumisbekov, Head of WMF. He is an experienced gardener and has assembled an excellent team that pays great attention to the greenery. Every year, West Dala allocates funds to plant 30-50 new trees.

This year, workers Rashid Gubashev and Nurlan Ygylmanov, under the leadership of Administrative Department Head Nurbakyt Kabidenov, had to work even harder due to an insect invasion. But they handled it excellently!

The spring floods in Atyrau region posed a challenge for all the residents. The emergency situation left no one indifferent: many Kazakhstani companies, including West Dala LLP, assisted the state in mitigating the consequences of this natural disaster.

Last week, in Atyrau’s “Otbasy” park, an initiative by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Regulation led to the planting of trees as part of the national campaign “Taza Kazakhstan.” Most of those who attended the event were employees from the oil and gas industry. Volunteers from West Dala, along with other participants, planted 1,000 ash and fruit tree saplings in place of the green areas that were lost during the floods.

The seminar “Local Content in Goods: Strategic Development of the Country and Industry,” organized by the KazService Union of Oil Service Companies in partnership with Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) and took place on October 11 in Atyrau city. It served as a platform for engaging domestic manufacturers in the company’s major projects. More than 160 participants from over 50 enterprises attended the event.

At the largest Forum in Central Asia on waste management and recycling, “Green Energy & Waste Recycling” (GEWR), the ideas, successful experiences, and the best technologies for disposal and recycling of industrial and consumer wastes were discussed.
