According to Vera Mustafina, Executive Director of the KazWaste Waste Management Association of Kazakhstan, the main tasks in the field of waste management should be aimed at improving the existing, creating and introducing new technologies. “The future of waste management should meet the new principles proclaimed by the international community – ЗD: industry decentralization – cover every household and every inhabitant with waste, market regulation of the industry; decarbonization – to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from waste, primarily methane from organic waste, to adhere to low-carbon technologies; and digitalization (digitalization) – the introduction of GPS systems on specialized transport, chips in containers, production automation, smart logistics, interactive waste maps, mobile applications for the public. We, as an industry, accept this challenge! ”, said Vera Mustafina.
