FORUM

Representatives of West Dala took a part in the “Local Value, Shared Growth” Forum, dedicated to developing Kazakhstani content within the country’s largest petrochemical initiative — the construction of a polyethylene plant with an annual capacity of 1.25 million tons. The forum served as an important venue for direct dialogue between international contractors and Kazakhstani enterprises. Participants were briefed on the current status of the project and plans for the construction of the polymerization unit and off-site facilities for the future Silleno plant.

According to Timur Kaliyev, Project Manager of SEZ NIPT: “At this event, we were able to hear how the national company is committed to developing petrochemicals — a strategic industry that opens new opportunities for the country’s economy and for the jobs in the Atyrau region. We became acquainted with presentations from EPC contractors and witnessed the signing of the agreement on the accession of Silleno LLP to the IMB Center Association. Participation in such forums helps our company gain valuable information, build new connections, and identify opportunities to offer not only integrated waste management services but also other service solutions.”

For reference: Silleno LLP is the operator of the project for the construction of a polyethylene plant in the Atyrau region. The project’s shareholders are JSC NC KazMunayGas (40%), Sinopec Overseas Investment Holding (30%), and PJSC SIBUR Holding (30%). The consortium of Tecnimont and Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Corporation are the EPC contractor for the polymerization unit and general plant facilities of the future polyethylene plant.
