West Dala took a part in the fifth Annual General Meeting of the members of the Kazakhstan Association of Waste Management “KazWaste”, which took place on December 4-5, in Shymkent and became an Anniversary this year.
At the meeting, the full reporting of the work of the Association for 2018 was presented, the results of the 5 years of work were summed up and the work plan for 2019 was outlined. On December 4, the participants visited a specialized company in Shymkent – a new plastic treatment plant Green Technology Industries.
All members of the Association who arrived to the meeting took an active part in discussing the development prospects of the industry, legislative barriers for the companies, achieving the best available technologies, and interaction with the EPO Operator and government bodies. The participation of all Association’s members at the General Meeting is extremely important for the making meaningful decisions and for the discussing further work strategies.
Also on December 5, the winners of the Waste Management Awards 2018 were determined at the Gala Dinner. The following winners were determined based on the results of the online voting:
- Successful implementation of a separate collection – Atameken 4 Plus LLP, Kazakhstan Waste Recycling LLP;
- Sorting leader – KazRecycleService, LLP;
- High-quality public service – Tartyp, JSC;
- Successful management of the landfill – ILIN, LLP;
- Successful recycling – Glass Trade, IE;
- Successful handling of electronic waste – PromTechnoResursKZ, LLP;
- Successful management of industrial waste – West Dala, LLP;
- Successful handling of hazardous waste – Sharua LLP;
- Active work with the population – TTK, LLP;
- The leader in introducing new technologies is Tau Innovative Solutions, LLP.

- Start-up of the year – Astana Clean Time, LLP;
- For contribution to the development of the industry – Center for Sustainable Development and KazKauchuk LLP.
Association Members were presented with letters of appreciation and membership certificates for 2019. The winners were awarded commemorative awards.
