ATYRAU MARATHON VI

Sunday morning in September, 24 was a hot for the participants of Atyrau Marathon VI. For every runner, such an event is a test of endurance, fortitude and sportsmanship. This year, 13 athletes from West Dala started in the marathon. Most of our runners turned out for the event under the sporting influence of Gaukhar Beketayeva, West Dala Health Service Specialist. She manages to cope with both office work and coaching duties at a running club "Run Club Atyrau".

“We all prepared for the marathon together almost every day. Gaukhar motivated us to win. At the competition itself there were such competitors that at the last moment I even doubted my victory, after all it was my first official marathon. But our efforts were 100 per cent worth it. Running is now the best hobby and anti-stress for me”, - Aiymzhan Nurmukhanova, Chemical Technologist at West Dala shares. In her first 10km running race, she took the 1st place in the 18+ age category.

Another winner Aiman Dauletyarova, an accountant at West Dala, trains with Gaukhar at the running club. “Sport has always been in my life, it keeps me toned and is good for my health. Sport, I believe, should be a way of life”, - Aiman says. She has been training hard for the marathon for the last few months and finally got a great result: the 3rd place in the 5 km running race in the 30+ age category.

West Dala coach Gaukhar Beketayeva herself took the 1st place in the 10km running race among runners in the 30+ age group. By doing so, Gaukhar improved her last year's marathon result by two points!

We would like to especially mention our colleague, system administrator Adilkhan Yessimov, who participated in the half marathon! He covered the distance of 21 km in 1 hour 36 minutes 19 seconds at an average speed of 13.14 km/h. All the results we got are brilliantly done work on ourselves and hours of training before the competition.

We would also like to mention all the participants of the marathon from West Dala: Elmira Sharipova, Altynay Almagambetova, Raushan Aisina, Kamshat Takhitaliyeva, Aziza Makhmetova, Azhar Yeginbayeva, Olesya Balashova, Dinara Mizamgaliyeva. Our colleagues are energized with sporting positivity!

The 13 participants from the company is a signal that West Dala’s employees love sport and attach great importance to a healthy lifestyle. All of you are our pride and an example that in the life of each of us there is time for work and sport if we wish!

West Dala's driver, Rishat Imashev, was featured at the quarterly Drivers Forum organized by NCOC due to his high performance on IVMS reports and commitment to safe driving.

West Dala completed the participation in the SDG Ambition program, an educational course developed by UN experts to integrate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the strategic and operational activities of the companies.
